Handley Cellars has been sourcing grapes from the Kazmet Vineyard in Redwood Valley since 2001. We really enjoy working with the owners, Leila Kazimi and Neal Mettler. They manage their beautiful head-trained Syrah and forty-year-old Zinfandel vines with care, and it shows in the wonderfully concentrated fruit they bring in year after year. The Kazmet vineyard is located on a gravelly bench in Redwood Valley, where the climate and well-drained soils are suited for growing both Zinfandel and Syrah. Two of the red wines included in the Spring Cellar Club shipment are made with grapes from the Kazmet Vineyard. We hope you enjoy them as much as we do.
