Introducing Screw Caps
|
|
Two of the wines in your fall shipment feature a new packaging element for Handley Cellars: screw caps. We began using screw caps this year with a few of our wines, and we’ve been pleased with the results. One of the appeals of this packaging is that it reduces the incidence of cork-tainted bottles. (Cork is a natural product, and there is always some risk of cork-taint associated with its use.) Our winemakers have embraced screw caps as another way to help ensure that the wine in the bottle tastes as great as the wine in the tank. We’re not ready to commit the majority of our wines to screw caps – some will age better with natural corks – but these aromatic whites were perfect candidates for trying out this relatively new option. We are pleased to present the same great Handley wines in this new packaging, and we know you’ll enjoy them as much as ever. (Please note: unlike bottles with corks, screw cap bottles should be stored neck-up.)
